Do drink cranberry juice, but also get to a doctor--you've got a UTI honey! Get an antibotic for that infection and you'll be feeling better soon.

try to drink unsweetened cran juice if you can find it and tolerate it.......sugars can make a UTI worse.

Lots of water helps as well to flush the system.

Teas (any of these......3 C/day) : corn silk, dandelion, nettles, catnip.

Hot/warm compresses across the kidneys along lower back can relieve pain and ease urination.

Hot and cold sitz baths to release fluids and flush out acids.

Avoid: caffeine, black tea, tomatoes, pop, salty and fatty foods and pasturized dairy.

In acute stage you can take 2 TBSP cider vinegar and honey in h2o in morning, cottage cheese for lunch, and a glass of white wine at night.

That's totally a UTI!

There is a cranberry extract pill that helps the pain. I can't remember what it's called, but as ZH said, sugar makes it worse so the pill is a good solution for that.

1/2 a day after you start the antibiotics, you'll start feeling better. Be sure to tell your doctor if you're allergic to sulfa, because that's a commonly used drug for UTIs (and it sends me to the ER if I get it prescribed accidentally)

Yep, you've got a UTI.

You can also try Prodium OTC for the pain until you can get to a doctor. It turns your pee bright orange and it stains everything, so be careful not to wear white.

Ouch... So sorry you're feeling bad Pat.

I get urinary infections, sounds an awful lot like what you're describing, and yes, cranberry juice works wonders, and there's also an over the counter med- called AZO-- makes urine a scary orange- but relieves the discomfort. Last time I had an infection- about 10 months ago I didn't go to the doc at all-(maybe I should have??) just drank cranberry juice and took AZO.

I think having a doc check it out would be a good thing to do. Good luck! Hope you feel better real quick. t/c

Go to the store and get yourself some AZO Standard. It doesn't heal a UTI but it eases the symptoms - will take away the burn and the urge to go when you don't really need to. Even if you feel really crummy and don't want to get out, do it anyway!! This stuff will help you feel better in the long run.

FYI, the medicine turns your urine a freaky orange color, so don't be alarmed. And I'm not sure if it's a symptom of the infection or caused by the medication itself, but there was a bit of leakage involved for me. Not huge amounts, but I noticed orange spots on the undies.

In the meantime, drink as much clear fluid as you can take and cranberry juice is good too. But I suggest getting the AZO first as drinking more means going more and you don't want to be feeling the burn!

Go see a doc ASAP... I tried the cranberry juice and water thing, and it turned into a kidney infection. Women are anatomically different than guys... our ureters (tube from kidneys to bladder) are shorter, and UTI's are climbers!

TC &keep us girls posted!

I actually had to go to the hospital once because I put off getting it treated and I ended up with constipation that had to be medically dealt with. Ick.

Not that you needed to know that.

Yep, what every one else said. Get to doc, unsweetened cranberry juice.

I've had bouts of that, and it hurts like hell, beyond hell. Warm hugs for you and get well soon.

Lots of water, hydrate hydrate hydrate. Vitamin C too. Everything that you can think of that is all about healing and comfort.
