I agree with setting mini goals. I have done day 1 of my workout. Went to the gym (cardio 30 minutes /weights 20 minutes) and then went for a walk (30 minutes). I'm taking tomorrow off because I'm going to a movie LOL!

My long term weight loss goal is to lose 20lbs by December 31st.

I have a good 15 pounds of flab left over from my pregnancy. I would love to be able to have weight loss buddies. So far the best thing I have done is not drink so much soda.

Hi everyone- I am joining you on the weight loss project. I need to lose about 50 lbs. I was following the Paleo diet earlier this year and lost 12 lbs. We went on vacation in July and I never got back on track after that. My main problems are stress eating and sugar. I am slowly getting off the sugar again by eating lots of fruit.
I walk my dog almost everyday for about 45 minutes first thing in the morning before I have time to procrastinate about it. I try to move around as much as possible at home.Other ways to get some walking in is to park your car as far away from the store, etc. as you can and take the stairs instead of elevators. If you have trouble walking you can go to Walmart or Target & take a carriage for support & walk around the store a few times.
Also- note to self-Stop buying dark chocolate M&M's !

Yes that can be a huge calorie saver. I have never liked regular pop and always drank diet, but I have read that it actually increases one's appetite. I only drank it once in awhile, but in the last month I started buying diet coke/pepsi and kept it in the house and I have noticed my appetite has increased.......after I'm done this case no more diet pop in the house!

Wow... busy day on the boards today!

How is everyone doing?

I got in contact with my p-doc about phentermine. Not surprisingly, he was not a fan of that idea. Because I don't want to do anything behind his back, I'll cancel my appointment with the weight loss clinic. *sigh*

In other news, I've been trying hard to exercise more. I have a mini stair stepper, and I try to use it for 30 minutes every morning. So far, I've been pretty spotty about it... only 3-4 days last week, but I can do better this week, right? The goal is five days.

How is everyone else coming along?

Want to have lost bout 50lb by x mas. I'd did really well last year but i broke my ankles 14 weeks ago so have put on weight with not being mobile! The thing is i have no motivation at minute and am limited on the exercise i can do because of the ankles! I'm tryin my best to cut out snacks and i don't like chocolate that much but sometimes i feel i need some! Lol. Anyway i think this thread is a great idea. If anyone has any tips on exercise i could do that won't strain my ankles i'd be very greatful. Take care ya'll

Have you thought about doing deep water aquasize? Most exercises in pilates aren't hard on the ankles. The only one I can think that you wouldn't be able to do is the plank. Glad you decided to join. The more the merrier!

You can do it!

No exercising for me today, but it was pre-planned because I went to a movie tonight (Easy A-so hilarious!). I ate really well today until I got to the movie LOL!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Have my exercise bike - haven't done it this week, but Sunday the hubs and I cut dead trees and pruned a bunch more, loading everything into a good sized trailer - had three loads..I figure that must count as at least two workouts, right?

Yes, it is hard work and you were probably breathing hard. I trimmed my raspberry bushes a couple of weeks ago and I was huffing and puffing and sweating.
Food yesterday was good..lots of walking.
I am figuring how to get some exercise today. Maybe walk the dog in the evening. All of a sudden it is warm here. Beautiful.

I ended up working 10 hours today and I'm too beat to go to the gym, but I ate really well today. My afternoon snack was chick peas mixed with red pepper and some carrots. Tomorrow I'm on nights, so I will have time during the day to go to the gym.

PT52, Definitely counts as 2 workouts!!

I ate a starbucks low fat berry coffee cake and forgot to eat lunch. Had beef jerky for dinner. Lots of room for improvement.

I've been too distracted with a mini mental health crisis to exercise the past couple days, although I'm still trying to watch how much I eat. Dinner last night was fun-size candy bars, but at least I didn't have anything else with them... :P

Gotta love Halloween. At least they are mostly bite size.
We went to the dog park and I made an effort to walk around it a couple of times. I got distracted by my favorites at Walmart and did over do it. Didn't do my record at Spark.
Today is a new day...thank goodness.

Every day is a new day and every day I start fresh but never seem to end it quite right. I am having an ENORMOUS struggle with trying to lose unsightly weight but I am failing dismally. Not living up to my signature that's for sure. Nice to have a place to post about it.

Walked my dog..but see really walked me. Exausting to try to keep her at my side. She even slipped her collar while I was talking to a friend. Set me up for anger. Anyway she is a sweet girl but used to being off leash at a local park..now forbidden for that use. Maybe i am too hard on her but i didn't love her up for a few hours.

Set myself up for a binge last night. I was angry, crabby frustrated. Maybe eating is self distructive.
Today went to an awesome brunch. Very full so tonight maybe will be light snacks.

I'm glad that I've found this thread. I'm trying to lose 60 lbs to get my weight down to a health BMI and to lower my cholesterol, so that I don't have to go on drugs for it. I'm working with a dietician. In the first 10 days of my diet I lost 3.5 lbs which I'm really happy about becuase I didn't feel starving. It's just a huge adjustment to healthy eating and eating 4 small meals during the day.

I'm trying to start exercising too, but I need to buy a new pair of running shoes before I do that, and I keep procrastinating on that.

The hardest thing for me is cutting out cheese. I love all cheese with a passion, but it's really bad for cholesterol, so I'm stuck with basically 1% cottage cheese.

I know this is going to be a slow progress, but I really am committed to changing my lifestyle as I'm tired of being fat and out of shape.
