Do you have sleep apnea? And, do you use a CPAP machine every night? Well, if you do, you know how much of a pain in the butt it is.

Sometimes I'm too tired to hook all the stuff up into all the orifices and strap myself down and stuff. I feel pinned. Kinda bothers my PTSD fears.

Anyways, my problem is this:

When I do not use the CPAP at night, the next morning I have a migraine almost all day long. I used to have migraines all the time before I started using the CPAP.

So, are migraines and sleep apnea related? I doubt anyone here can answer that question for me.

Sounds to me that you figured this out on your own! Obviously they are to you.. related.

When you NEED a CPAP it's because you stop breathing during sleep. You can die from this, ya know? Just because you do wake up in the morning doesn't mean your body has had enough oxygen to function during the night. I hope you can make it somehow to always have it set up, and wear it and turn it on at night to sleep... it will keep you around. I have one friend, and she uses a CPAP... and takes it along when we travel to Disney together (she goes as my friend and helper, as I am disabled.) I wonder if your not using it is really a passive suicide wish? I do understand the "entrapment" aspect with the PTSD though. Can you discuss this and get good vibes/meditations to overcome not using it, with your T??? Have you googled the CPAP, apnea, migraine connection? good wishes! tc have sleep apnea? use CPAP? migraines?

Yeah, I've heard that sleep apnea and migraines are connected -- they sure were for my mom. I think I might have sleep apnea, too. I need to get in for a sleep study.

_Sky . . . thanks! i'll google it. my sleep apnea isn't so serious. (my bro has sleep apnea and would rattle the windows from his gasps for air and snoring. i barely snore but stop breathing for short intervals about close to 100 times a night. the air pressure on the CPAP is set very low.) i know i'm minimizing here. you're right, not using my CPAP can be dangerous for me/others when i operate a vehicle.

JustBen . . . thanks! surprised me people replied to this.

i would probably would not be using the CPAP except for this reason:
my doc said that sleep apnea puts a person at risk for heart disease.

also, it took me a while to quit denying i'm unable to drive long distances anymore. (makes me feel old) people can appear awake with eyes open and really be sleeping. this is especially true for sleep apnea.

go get tested have sleep apnea? use CPAP? migraines?

I know how it is, Jennie. Sometimes I'm too tired to put the water in and stuff. Just have to get it ready earlier - before we get too tired, I guess. It's tough to get used to the machine at first too.

I have found that when I don't wear my mask I end up with a killer headache. I wear it every night now and know I need to go back to the doctor to get it reset since I've lost weight I know it needs to be changed the strength. I hope you continue to wear your mask and that your headaches get better.
