ready to bop workman's comp dr on head with my crutch

So, I fell and sprained my foot and ankle September 18th. I just saw the orthopedic doctor. He doesn't recommend a cortisone shot which was what my doctor referred me to him for. He says let's wait another six months? ????!!!! I'm in so much pain I can't sleep. I can't sit, and I can't walk. I saw a lawyer who says I don't have a case unless a doctor says I have permanent damage. At this point, I personally think I do. Part of the reason this is so bad is the workman's comp didn't even allow me to see a doctor until 2 weeks after my injury. Then when ER recommended an MRI I didn't get that until months later. The doctor that referred me to the orthopedic specialist recommended a cortisone shot but now I won't get that until months later and I know they are planning on dropping me before then. I see a doctor in April and I asked what he was for. My nice workman's cpmp doctor told me his job is to see if there is any more that can be done fore me and if not they dump me and don't have to pay for anymore of my treatment which makes no sense. I guess if that happens, then they are admitting I will not get any better and have
my lawyer ask for a settlement. This whole thing is just unbelievable. One of the doctors. Who.was really rude and insulting didn't even know which foot was hurt, told me the swelling on the MRI meant nothing and all MRIs show that and when I told her my
problem was none of the meds were helping my pain or swelling she said, "if they aren't working, stop taking them." I told her I.was no better and being pushed /harrassed to ho back to work. She said, "why don't you then?" I explained that I can't elevate my foot to where it doesn't hurt so much because I work in a small cubicle and I don't have my own desk and it's very difficult to carry everything with crutches or a cane. Her response, well, no one said you shouldn't walk on that ankle. How many things do you have to carry?" Well a small file cabinet full. Most people push theirs around but I can't. Then I also have to carry a pillow and the cardboard box I use to elevate my foot. Oh and I went back to work I had no choice, but now I've missed two days again because being on it just
aggravates it. Oh disregard any words / letters below. I'm writing on an old phone and it doesn't let me scroll up or down to edit sometimes .thanks for letting me vent before I explode.

Yep. Get used to it? Can you see your own doctor before they realize you're a work comp case? Pay cash...?

I've been hassled by them for 27 years... and they never reported my injury and waited 3 days to get me medical help... if they had helped me, I might not be total permanent disabled.... and they STILL follow me and tap my phone and go into my mail etc etc etc... after 27 years, MRIs, and documentations of physical injury and yadda yadda yadda...

The governor in FL wants to eliminate the work comp program altogether. Might as well, they've watered it down so much no one hurt these days gets any help.. I'm grandfathered in and have to fight for everything. (MD has been requesting motorchair and handicap van for 11 YEARS! I've never had a hearing before the judge...NEVER...)

Breathe and don't take it personally...their bottom line is money. Lawyers are taught to delay and deny all claims.

Yeah. I'm going on my own to an independent doctor tomorrow. The.regular workman's comp.doctor is nicer and even admitted he thinks there is permanent / chronic damage and I'll probably get a settlement. They were really weird in the doctors office though and almost didn't let me see him.and then didn't give me the regular paperwork. Also the adjuster isn't approving me seeing an independent doctor. They won't pay for it. I'm going anyway. What a bunch of jerks. I'm sorry for

No they won't pay for it...unless you see their doctor first (but maybe now the rules changed, but it used to be if you saw theirs, they had to pay for you to see yours however, now "yours" is from a list of "their" doctors all insurance *****s if you ask me. (Oh the number of "their" doctors who already had my "nothing wrong with her" note made before they even saw me!)

AND I firmly believe that once you are on worker comp your name goes on a data base list so all doctors can check to see...some will not see you just because of that, and others because they don't want to get involved in litigation.

I saw a doctor that knew it was workman's comp. He told me opposite of what other doctors did and helped a lot and I got a lawyer to take my case. I don't know how those other doctors sleep at night. I know it won't be easy but at least I'm not fighting on my own.
