I have this pain in my mouth when I open. It’s on my upper right jaw. It doesn’t really feel like teeth pain. It feels more like the inside of my jaw. I had my wisdom teeth removed in 2015, and I’ve been to the dentist many times since. So there were no problems. I also have this odd feeling in the back of my throat. Like I swallowed the wrong way. I was sick about a week ago. So maybe it’s related to that? It doesn’t hurt to eat or drink. It’s just when I’m opening my mouth or tilting my head to the left. I vaguely remember accidentally hitting myself on that side, but I didn’t really think it could of done this.
Does anyone have any insights? Also if it doesn’t go away by Tuesday, who do I go to? Do I go to a dentist, my primary or a ENT? The last would be pretty hard to go to. |

I remember when I had an abscessed tooth, it hurt more in the jaw than the tooth, so it could still be a tooth... best bet would be to see your GP or dentist as soon as you can. The dentist would do an xray and let you know if it's not the teeth, but the GP would have a bit harder time getting a picture of what's going on quickly, without sending you out for an xray.

Thanks. I just sneezed up a bunch of stuff. So I think it might be my sinuses from getting sick. Also I think hitting that side of my face might have aggravated the pain more.
If it’s not better in by Tuesday I might call my dentist and ask her. If a tooth was abscessed would it hurt all of a sudden when I didn’t have any pain before? Also can you see an abscess? My mom looked in my mouth and didn’t see anything. |

The pain in my face went away. But now I have bad post nasal drip and this awful smell in my throat and a bad taste in my mouth. I also feel like the smell is wafting out of my chest. Because I smell it when I’m sitting down.
I don’t think it’s my teeth since the pain went away and I have this smell and post nasal drip. I also don’t have much of an appetite. I barely ate yesterday. I might have to see my primary if it doesn’t get better this weekend. |
