I’ve had this bad taste in my mouth. It started today. It tastes like I’ve been eating Tums. Tums make me really sick to my stomach. They can also cause high levels of anxiety for some reason. I have no anxiety but I’ve been really sick to my stomach because the taste is so similar. I had a soda, and a lot of water, and I can’t get rid of it. It’s killed my appetite and I could only stomach about 980 calories today. Food is tasting ok in general. The Mac and cheese I had tasted weird though.
Does anyone know what could be causing this? It was really sudden. I don’t have any pain in my mouth. |

You didn't mention if you're taking any kinds of medications. They can sometimes cause these sorts of things. I was put on Abilify at one point & it made everything I ate taste metallic. It killed my appetite. I didn't stay on it very long. Beyond that I don't think I would know. Perhaps this is something that should be discussed with a physician?

I think Splenda and other artificial sweeteners might be the problem. Aren’t Tums filled with artificial sugar?

Did you look at your tonsils and mouth? Any white coating on either?
