Hello. So a food market I normally shop at has an item I really like, and I'm just wondering if it's a decent choice to include in my 'diet' fairly regularly.

The item is Tyson Diced Grilled Chicken, here you can see the nutrition information Is this a healthy food choice to eat often?

The main consideration is the amount of protein, since I'm trying to improve my back strength and health especially, and I've read that foods like chicken, and protein is one nutrient that is good for things like bone, muscle and joint health. But I also see it seems to have a decent amount of sodium and cholesterol too, so I'm just wondering if it's still a healthy choice considering all the other good nurition content it has.

I personally will not buy Tyson products because of how they treat the animals (specifically chickens) before slaughter and their workers. They have had several lawsuits over their cruelty to animals and workers alike. But you may not have the same concerns about that as I do.

I would especially worry about the amount of sodium and how many added ingredients are in it. If you feel up to it you could make your own diced chicken and freeze it for future use. Replenish as you use it up. Then you could season it exactly to your preferences and control how much sodium is in it plus it is usually much cheaper.

Yes I agree with the sodium. I used to get those and the grilled chicken breasts and the grilled nuggets regularly. But the last 2 times I’ve gotten them they have been very gristle to the point of being inedible. It grossed me out so I stopped buying them

I prefer Tyson pizza nuggets or batter dipped strips. Which are probably worse for me but taste better.

Yes agree the sodium content is a concern since contains 570 mg sodium for 3 ounces and if you eat more than 3 oz at a time, then contains even more sodium. Would recommend eating it occasionally with once every two weeks maybe.

Honestly, you'd be better off buying a value pack of chicken breasts of thighs, preferably when they're on sale. then just sprinkle with a bit of salt and pepper and roast on a pan in the oven. Then pop them, in individual serving sizes into the freezer.

It's cheaper in the long run, and healthier.
