Anyone ever take this? My doctor prescribed it for severe nausea I’ve been having. It works great but the stuff I was reading online made it sound like this was an intense drug similar to opiates. And that’s kind of gotten me freaked out a bit.
Does anyone have any experience? __________________ Ridin' with Biden |

It’s zofran. Pretty common prescription for nausea. It is preferable to something like phenergan because it is less sedating. You’ll be fine.

I took it multiple times after receiving ECT (electroconvulsive therapy). It worked for nausea. From what I can recall, it didn't cause any problems. I hope it helps you if you decide to take it.

It’s going ok but it makes me so tired. So I’ve been sleeping through the night and then exhausted all day. Luckily I don’t actually do anything so being lazy isn’t a problem. I tried last night to not take it so I could test to see if my nausea had been a result of a bug. An hour later the nausea was intense so I know it wasn’t a bug. But at least my depression and SI is gone now and I don’t feel like admitting myself to the mental health hospital every night. I just had to figure out that something really was going on.

So the doctor told me on the phone today I should be taking it as needed even though the bottle says every night. So now I’m trying to get a severe side effect under control that was caused by it.

Ondansetron has helped me greatly with nausea. I have nausea that is off the charts so much so that I ended up in the emergency dept of the hospital twice.
Thankfully this nausea only happens once or twice a month. Turns out that the cause of the nausea was hormonal changes. The instructions for it were to take when needed. It did a great job stopping being ill. When you get better from what is making you ill you wont need it any more. |

My gastro doctor seemed concerned I was on it. He said it could interfere with my psych meds. He prescribed something else that I will take daily in the morning instead of as needed at night. The zofran really helped and I for sure could use it right now.

I don't know what you've been reading online, but zofran is nothing like an opiate. I've been practicing and prescribing zofran for 14 years and I have zero patients addicted to zofran. That said, all medications can have some drug interactions, and so are not ideal for every person depending on their other meds

Do you know if it causes increased hunger or weight gain? I haven’t taken it in a number of days and I’ve lost a lot of weight and I haven’t been hungry.
