I have papulopustular rosacea, that is quite uncomfortable. Right now I am using a prescription cream called Finacea twice a day. It has reduced the number of bumps on my face and the redness, but it dries my skin out. I'm looking for a face cream that I can by at a pharmacy's cosmetic counter that is gentle and hydrating. If you have the same type of rosacea as I do, what cream has worked well for you?

I have rosacea but of a different type. Drugstores usually have the standard Cerave and Cetaphil creams if you haven't tried them. They are pretty budget-friendly. I know it can be trial and error with rosacea - I feel your pain. I have some EltaMD sunblock that works for me, and I think they have a face cream but I haven't tried it - a bit pricier. Aveeno makes a calming face cream I think - again I haven't tried it but should be reasonably priced.
I have a neutrogena oil-free face cream that I like because it is light and doesn't break me out - also quite reasonable. I've recently started using Juice Beauty products which have so far been okay - again, much pricier - got them at Ulta. You might try going to Sephora or Ulta if you have access to them in your area (or something like them) - often, their people really know their products well and can point you in the right direction. That's what I finally did and found great help there - they have SO much to choose from that it is overwhelming. There are a few decent FB pages for Rosacea and sometimes they have suggestions. |

Thank you for the suggestions. I never heard of EltaMD. I'm going to look into their products.
Rosacea is definitely a pain. Most products I have tried irritate my skin. I very recently started using Avene. So far I am having some success with it. CeraVe is a great body cream. The container with the blue lid is my favorite. It hydrates very well and doesn't leave a film on my skin. I haven't tried any of their face creams, yet. I'm starting to notice a difference with the prescription cream. My forehead is no longer red and covered in bumps. The amount of itchiness has also decreased. Trying different face creams is fun (even though it can be expensive). __________________ Dx: Didgee Disorder |

I use one from Avene too that helps control the redness somewhat. Although I think I have a different type of rosacea.

I'm presently using Avene Antirougeurs Fort Soothing Concentrate. It works. There is definitely a decrease in redness.
