I had both mRNA shots. The first one I had was Pfizer. The second shot was Moderna. I'm in Ontario where they allow vaccine mixing. Both shots were giving to me by my city's public health department.

Ever since I had the first shot on May 6th, I have had problems with bone and muscle pain. After the second shot on July 16th, it has worsened and occurs almost daily. I wake up with sore hands, wrists and ankles. Sometimes my elbows and shoulders hurt. There doesn't appear to be swelling and redness, just morning stiffness. Sometimes I feel slightly feverish. Has anyone experienced this? If so what is it?

After my second shot I was ill for 72 hours after with chills, bone pain, headache and a swollen and sore shoulder. It resolved, but about two weeks later I started experiencing what I described in the previous paragraph.

Maybe mixing the two together was the issue? In the states they say not to do that. Although they don’t know the effects of mixing them. I had moderna both times and the first time I just had a 24 hour physical reaction but the second one I had a psych reaction which lasted about a week. I was having a reaction to my ceiling fans when they were on and my drinking water made me feel sick. I had to call my doctor to make sure this was normal and he said it was.

But maybe call your doctor about it.

i am sorry you are still having side effects from the mrna vaccines. pls report them to your doctor, not only in the hopes that he/she might be able to help alleviate the symptoms but also so that there can be a fuller picture of the possible side effects of these vaccines. take care.

Thanks for the replies.

I've been suffering almost daily with bone and joint pain in my hands, feet and ankles. Some days I feel sick and mildly feverish. I can really tell I am off because odors and the thought of food makes me want to gag. Yuck. Other days I feel okay but with pain.

Two weekends ago I was ill and in a lot of pain. I called in sick because I could barely walk due to the ankle pain. Most of the day was spent sleeping. By the late evening I felt better and had an appetite. The next day I was able to return to work even though I was hurting. After this incident I decided to book an appointment with my doctor.

Today I saw the doctor. I told her what was going on. She told me the mRNA vaccines probably had nothing to do with it. She thinks I had a virus at the end of June that may have been Covid. I never got tested, since I wasn't that ill. Now I will never know for sure since I have been fully vaccinated.

The doctor found swelling in some of my joints in my feet that I never noticed (I rarely look at my feet). She also found some little round bumps that I discovered about three weeks ago on two of my fingers that don't hurt. I have no clue what they are. - She thinks I either have some kind of post viral syndrome or an emerging autoimmune disease.

Now I have to get a blood draw and x-rays done. The blood tests are CBC, Creatinine, Sodium, Potassium, ALT, TSH, ESR, CRP, ANA and Rheumatoid Factor.

Mixing and matching is currently being studied with promising possibiities. One thing I saw over and over as I researched before responding to your post is that many people have reported worse side effects, some worth a doc visit from combining the two different vaccines. If you really feel all of these things you need to see your primary and possibly get a referral for a different doctor. Why hvent you investigated this sooner since the second shot was in july?

OMG @The_little_didgee I am so glad you went to the doctor. I was going to ask some questions like if you were a man or woman and how old you are but the whole time I was reading I thought: "that sounds like me" but not with vaccines. About 4 years ago I got a severe throat infection. Not strep but severe and it took 3 antibiotics and 6 weeks to recover. About 2 weeks or so past recovery the joints in my hand swelled up so bad I could barely hold the steering wheel. And it got worse. I started with my PCP but the more research I did and education I got the more I honed in on what my issues might be.

Now I have RA on my mothers' side. My first rheum called it "reactive arthritis" which is a reaction to a hard assault on your immune system. In laymans its like your body starts attacking itself after fighting super hard to kill the infection. I had it in my hands, shoulders, legs, feet and hips. I am only 46 now ( I say only even though I am an old woman lol) but seriously I never expected all this. In 3 years I had five surgeries. Both wrists with carpal tunnel, right hand joint replacement, both rotator cuffs. its like my joints just fell apart. But the second and different rheum said it had moved from reactive to inflammatory. She also said that not everyone has all the ra factors with their blood work.

Anyhow google this stuff and let me know what you think.

I'm not convinced I have an autoimmune disease. My doctor is just being cautious since two of my siblings and one of my parents have autoimmune diseases.

I don't seem to have the classic swollen red and hot joints that suggest RA. This makes me question that suspicion. I wonder if I have tendonitis in my hands and feet. What is strange is it is on both sides of my body and in almost identical joints. It hurts around my joints but not really in-between them. I have morning stiffness and a feeling of weakness that fluctuates. Some days it is really bad and others it is somewhat okay. Moving around and doing things seems to help with the discomfort. It also improves as the day progresses.

Some of my family members have negative blood tests. If mine come back normal it won't surprise me at all.

My doctor doesn't want to refer me to a rheumatologist just yet. I'm okay with that. I need evidence before I will allow her to refer me.

All my blood tests returned normal. I suspected that would happen, especially since I had been tested 3 months earlier but not for RF, ANA, ESR and CRP.

The RF test was a bit confusing to understand. I thought it was either a positive or negative result, not a range. In Ontario it is <15 IU/mL. Mine was 10.

I thought most healthy people didn't make RF or at least non-detectable levels that is. Is that so?

I'm supposed to get x-rays of my hands. I don't know if I will bother doing that. Anyway I am feeling better.

I really suspect this was caused by the vaccine.

I received the Moderna vaccine and feel dizzy these days. I attribute this either to stress or the vaccine. The room is slowly spinning while I am sitting. I never had a problem with dizziness before. I checked around and there seems to be a correlation between dizziness and mRNA vaccines. Also, dizziness is one of the symptoms of covid-19 but I don't have a fever or any other symptom except dizziness. I will try to live with it. I'm going to exercise and see if this will help alleviate the dizziness. I am getting motion sickness from this. I am not mad or anything but sad. I did not start becoming dizzy until about two weeks ago. I'm also busier now so stress could be a cause too. However, I usually don't become dizzy from stress but do become psychotic. So, this is all new to me.
