usually, when you injure one part/side of your body, you rest that and use the other one.
examples: you broke your left foot, so you rely more on the right foot; you bruised your right arm, so you use more of your left arm; you sprained your left hand, so you use your right hand more; or you injured your left knee, so you rest that and use more of your right knee (aka limping or putting more weight on).

here's the problematic situation:
i've got tendonitis in my left shoulder, two types of tendonitis in my left elbow, then likely tendonitis in my right shoulder & 1 maybe 2 types of tendonitis in my right elbow (find out for sure at next doc appt), and now a sprained thumb on my right hand.

someone please tell me what the h**l i'm suppose to do, cuz i'm at my wit's end !!!!

Dear jrae,

What an awful situation! I am so sorry that this happened to you. Wish I knew what to say to help.

I can identify with you because I have a chronic jaw injury that results in constant pain. Analgesics are only partly helpful. Since I have only one jaw, there isn't much I can do. I have to eat and I talk sometimes. How terrible that you have tendonitis in so many places. My heart goes out to you!

Sincerely yours, Yao Wen

Hey @jrae are you seeing an ortho surgeon about this? Did you have an MRI and are you doing PT?

I'm assuming you are seeing an ortho? I would insist they get physical and occupational therapy started at the least so that you can figure out how to function.

thanks everyone.

yes i am working with the doctors. i am currently on some strong meds to help with the pain and more. physical therapist is involved also. and the orthopedic surgeon is on "standby", who would do further imaging.

the tricky part is i have a muscle condition, which is causing most of this.

Oh @jrae Please tell me you have had a consult with an ortho surgeon! I promise you they will help. After my arthritis dx it seems like my body started to fall apart. I had 5 surgeries in 3 years.
First I had carpal tunnel surgery on each wrist. (2 surgeries)
My cmc joint and thumb was so awful I actually had to have a joint replacement procedure. (they took some of my tendon in my forearm and fixed the tendons and whatever and reassembled the thumb joint.

Then i had a rotator cuff tear in my right shoulder. It took forever to get that dx because I didnt know why I had pain until it was awful.
I also had left shoulder pain. My surgeon said that he could see a tear. I went in for surgery but while he was in there he saw that there was no tear but i was full of "junk" and fluids due to arthritis so he "cleaned it all up".

Rotator cuffs are hard to diagnose even with an MRI. The stupid thing is whats the first thing a doc wants? You got to go get an xray.
FOR WHAT? YOUR SHOULDER ISNT BROKEN. IF IT WAS YOU WOULDNT BE ABLE TO MOVE YOUR ARM!

Its the MRI combined with a physical exam. My thumb joint didnt look bad on the MRI but he saw how F'd up and painful it was.

Did you know rotator cuff tears or stretches mimmick tendonitis? And Frozen shoulder?
How did you get your tendonitis dx and what is your treatment plan?
