Since July 2020 I've been dealing with unsteadiness and dizziness whenever I turn my head and it's been gradually getting worse and very discomforting. I'm trying to get a doctor but it seems like every doctor in my city is booked and I can't take it anymore. And in addition to that I'm struggling with agoraphobia, anxiety, and depression. So far I've been passively suicidal but now I'm not so sure anymore.

I'm sure all that dizziness is making you miserable. Can you go online to talk to a doctor or find a doctor further away?
Feel free to talk to us here. We care and don't want you to give in to suicidal thoughts. Please, if you get really serious about it, reach out for help. I think there's a hotline in the Depression forum. I'll check. |

Thanks for responding. I don't really get the room spinning sensation or my ears ringing. The main issue is whenever I move my head I feel dizzy and off balance, I constantly worry I'll fall. I've already been outside a couple of times although it was a challenge. I'm fully vaccinated luckily. I can hardly do anything not even relax. And I'm planning on getting insurance but that doesn't kick in until January. I'm fed up with waiting and I don't know if I can even hold on until then.

Do a google search for BPPV (Benigh Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo). A physical or occupational therapist trained in treatment of this can help reduce the symptoms quickly and often can resolve it entirely if this is what you have.

Hey @BeyondtheRainbow you may have just saved my husbands life in my marriage! I am researching it now. I will let you know what I think. But we have been trying to figure out what is happening to my husband for so long and as much as I Google it as good as I am at researching I’ve never seen this before.

Be sure you have a therapist who has had additional training in it beyond what they might have learned in school. I was in school a long time ago but they never mentioned it. I found out about it when my mom had it and then I took a few classes on it although I never got very good at it because I didn't practice what I'd learned. __________________ Bipolar 1, PTSD, GAD, OCD. Hey @BeyondtheRainbow I read conflicting information regarding who would help treat the issue. I read that physical therapists are good and also occupational therapists. My son is 25 but three years ago out of the blue he had a stroke! As you can imagine it was chaos and it was almost devastating but he made a full recovery and is in law school! He also had to have different therapies post stroke. He had PT and he had OT and I have to say OT seem to be the most helpful with his physical body and physical space. I’m just trying to prep myself because of my husband has to Have PT or OT I wanna make sure I get the ball rolling ahead of time so we don’t have to wait forever for various approvals. I also downloaded and printed out all of those different movements and treatments you can work on at home. Thanks so much! Seriously, I know people think everybody here for advice and ideas but I’m very very serious: we have been trying to figure this out for five years. Out of the blue my husband had the worst experience with vertigo. We went to the hospital and everything and we found out it was just “vertigo “ we were sort of sent on her way with anti-vertigo medication and that was it. I would say overtime he may be has had 4 to 5 experiences of severe vertigo. The last time he had to have a Tele visit with our primary. Thankfully she didn’t give him any crap and prescribed the medication he took before to help with the symptoms of vertigo. But every single thing I read about what she mentioned described him to a T! I’m kind of shocked because I’m the Google queen and I tried everything I can think of and never ever saw this pop-up. And of course half the time you can’t even rely on doctors to listen to you and ( I could go on and on about the ER but that’s for another time.) thank you, thank you, thank you! You took the time to share this little bit of information and you really are going to change things around here! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk __________________ "I carried a watermelon?" We're welcome.
Ge cameful a home exercises; if you do the wrong ones ou could wind up just back to the start and it could be worse. Good luck! If you have questions let me know and I'll try to answer. I'm an OT and am trained in this but it's been 10 years since I went near it. So basically I don't know mch but I used to. __________________ Bipolar 1, PTSD, GAD, OCD. I already looked up to see if it was BPPV but I don't think it is due to my off balance and dizziness being constant as oppose to BPPV where the symptoms subside once the head position that triggered the episode is changed. I think my neck is the main cause but of course I'm not sure.
