Thursday morning I ate normally. Then my mom brought me food back. The usual thanksgiving stuff in a couple small containers. Yesterday I had yogurt for breakfast. I got a couple full calorie drinks. I had a chicken meal from a chicken place for lunch. I skipped dinner but I had some chips and dips and a couple sprites. On my way back I got an Oreo hot chocolate. Today I've been pretty hungry mainly eating a big lunch. I havent snacked and I didnt eat much dinner. When I went to weigh myself I was up 10 pounds. Did I gain that much? What is a reasoable amount I could have gained in 2.5 days?

Different scale?
Also i see some high sodium items. My mother used such an incredible amount of salt in her cooking that holiday meals gave me a headache and made me crave full sugar soda to cut the salt. Honestly she would buy 5 round boxes of mortons every holiday. Who does that? I buy those round little s&p's at 7-11 and im good for 10 years. Have you been a car passenger and or not exercising? |

Yes. Your most accurate weight is after you pee and naked first thing in the morning. Whether you eliminated your bowels or not affects the number. Legit the moon affects our weight, if you weigh yourself at night you could be 5 or so lbs more. Ignore every scale other then the one you should use in the morning. All my docs are in the same network and same office set up so tell me how in one week there was a 14 difference? I really really feel you should not weigh yourself every day. it creates weight obsession and is unhealthy. Why do you weigh yourself so often?

Well it wasn't as bad when I weighed myself this morning. Only a 5 pound weight diffrence from Wednesday morning which was when I weighed myself last time in the AM. 5 pounds I guess seems pretty typical after Thanksgiving. Especially if traveling and hotels and eating out is involved.

I can swing 5 lbs in either direction, simply based on water weight alone. I weigh myself a couple of times a week, and don't take the numbers too seriously until I've had the same reading a few times in a row.

Yes generally a person weighs the least first thing in the morning before eating and the most in the afternoon or evening. Sometimes kidney disease can cause swelling and fluid buildup so could gain weight more easily than normal. Or any disease states or health issues that increase fluid build up or swelling can cause weight gain. If exercising and sweating a lot need to drink approximately 16 oz for every pound lose from sweating excessively. Also consume foods or liquids with electrolytes if working out more than 20-30 minutes since want to avoid dehydration. I studied nutrition in the past and am into nutrition and exercise.
