Hello! First let me say I hope this is the right section, and if not feel free to move it to the right one!
So I've started walking for exercise to help improve my overall health, and feel like I'm doing something and not just wasting away sitting around doing nothing, and just wanted to see if anybody has any ideas of things I could do while walking that I can like build up and have something 'big' over time, so I don't feel like I'm literally just walking around aimlessly and getting nothing but exercise. To help better explain what I really mean I'll give you an example (a kinda poor one but hopefully it'll help give you the idea). About the only thing I do while walking that I'm 'building up' is playing Pokemon Go. But unfortunately that is of course just a silly (meaningless for the most part to me) video game, and having some great big old Pokedex filled account after walking all the time isn't very... applicable or valuable etc. for anything in the real world and my life. I hate just feeling like I'm doing nothing and improving or working towards and building anything up in my life, and walking/exercising is about the best I can think of for me personally right now that makes me feel like I'm actually doing something and making an effort and improving anything, but spending my life just walking around aimlessly for months isn't honestly ultimately going to bring (me personally at least) much value or satisfaction etc. So since walking is my main thing currently, like I said I just was hoping maybe somebody had some ideas for things I can throw in there with/during it, other than building up some video game account. Thank you and hopefully you can understand what I really mean! __________________ |

I'm in a walking club. It's me and 4 older ladies. When covid hit, we began walking at a local park. I started taking photos of interesting things on our walks. The others soon joined me with either cell phones or whatever camera they had available. We're working on a book now of photos we took and stories of our walks.
By accident one day we bumped into the local scouts picking up trash around the park, so we decided to walk with a trash bag and a long handled grabber thing and pick up trash. It's very satisfying just knowing we have a positive impact in our community. Hope you find something you like to keep you occupied on your walks. |
