I went for 2 years without seeing my doctor and my denial about my health killed me.

Lucky for me, I was at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and they revived me, intubating me. They removed the tube 24 hours later.

I was in and out of the hospital since January 2022. I went to the er twice because my medical problem was not resolved.

I returned because something was wrong with my legs, and I could not walk. Since I would not get to my front door, paramedics had to kick in my door.

The doctor who examined me in the er told me they could not treat me there, but he could send me to any location in the Barnes-Jewish network.

I said " Please send me to the main hospital in the city."

I next remember waking up in BJC ICU where I spent 10 days. While I was there, 2 different doctors came to see me saying they did not see patients
survive what I went through.

I felt like a miracle.

After that, I spent 10 days in their step-down unit, then I went to 2 different rehab facilities. I had to relearn to use my hands, my arms, and to walk again. I am now home and am better every day.

I will ever again not see my doctors when I need to.

Really sorry to hear about this, and I’m glad you’re recovering- I seem to remember you posting a few years back? Welcome back, I wondered how you were doing.
