Anyone struggle with recurrent diverticulitis?
Anything you might wish to share . . . I'm all ears ! I am admitted to the hospital for the second time in 3 weeks with DV diagnosed by CT scan. I feel so sick. I'm hopeful they can fix me up . . . . but for how long,? |

I've only suffered one bout of diverticilitus but it was a living hell to go through. So I am so very, very sorry that you are afflicted. Anyone who hasn't been through it has no idea what a painful and crushingly heavy burden it is. I take fiber for my gut these days: psillium seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds and eat a lot of high fiber foods like cauliflower, radishes and such. Of course sometimes DV can be caused by mechanical problems in the gut. I hope you get better soon and that doctors can help you avoid ever suffering it again. My heart really goes out to you!

Rose,
I hope you are resting comfortably as possible. I have been hospitalized 8 times in the last two years for intestinal issues. The antibiotics I am sometimes on are worse than the diease. They sre poison in my body. The hospital environment is also tough on me. even on my best day.. My best advice Best wishes for a total recovery. My best advice...use the pain meds! __________________ True happiness comes not when we get rid of all our problems, but when we change our relationship to them, when we see our problems as a potential source of awakening, opportunities to practice patience and learn.~Richard Carlson |

This has been so miserable. I've never known severe physical suffering like this. It makes life not worth living to me.
Also, I'm alone. My bf died 2 years ago. We moved so far from family. I thought I'ld have some good years to think about moving back to where I'm from. For 8 years I cared for my very sick bf. I was strong. Now, less than 2 years later, I'm in a hospital bed a mess. It's too much. Without health, there is nothing, esp when your love is gone. |

Today I felt poorly most of the day. In the past few hours, though, I've improved a lot and was able to eat and enjoy a small meal. I keep reading that recovery from episodes of diverticular infection can be rather slow. I have to cultivate patience. Thank you for asking.
I hope you've found success in managing your own tummy challenges. I am in awe of what others manage to survive. Hope you are having a good weekend. |

What a rollercoaster ride. Today I felt pretty good all day. Enjoyed supper. That turned in a few hours to have been foolish. I ended up wracked with nausea. Then up it came. Now I'm thirsty, but afraid to sip anything.
The entire month of May I've been sick with this intestinal issue. At least I'm no longer sick like I was in the hospital. But neither am I normal. I wonder if I will ever be again. I know others go thru far worse. I've been fortunate and don't have a lot of experience with being sick. I just hate it. In the hospital, on the really bad days, I kept thinking, "I'ld rather face a firing squad." At least that would be over quick. I thought of calling one of my sisters. But it's a holiday weekend. No one needs to hear me whining. So my whining stays here. I have to try to think positive. |
