Found out I have the gene for ovarian cancer yesterday.I decided to get tested two weeks ago and I have it.Was a little emotional knowing family history of this. Now I have a decision to make and will not be easy.I know it is painful to go through. My other option is have the hysterectomy done for preventive reasons.I turn 44 the end of this month and have time making this decision.I am leading towards having the hysterectomy done which I am having done next year.So far boyfriend and my family knows including my son which I have support from.Planning this next year in January

@Stronglady1 I am sorry to hear the news about you having the gene for ovarian cancer. That news must be difficult to handle.
It is definitely a difficult situation to make this decision. I hope you remember that we are here for you even though we really don't have the expertise to tell you what to do. But I hope that you make it through this challenge and feel good about yourself whatever you decide. I tell myself "I can only do the best I can." @CANDC __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |

It was difficult at first.Luckily I have a co worker that went through this last year and she has been there for me.I see a specialist on this on December 22nd.My boyfriend knows about it,he lost an aunt to ovarian cancer 2 years ago.Said she went through so much pain.It gave me a wake up call.
