I got diagnosed on the 4th of this month with low vitamin D after showing symptoms and being asked to be tested. And I'm taking the vitamins but I am just so still lethargic and zapped of energy. I've had to move therapy to virtual twice recently. Thursday I was pretty sick with some 24 hour cold bug thing. I haven't taken a shower since Monday because I just don't have any physical energy. I've been eating fine and theres been a good difference in my mental health because of my other med increases. I set up an appointment to see my primary doctor on Tuesday. My endocronolgist was the one who ordered the test.
But I'm just wondering how long it typically takes for someone with low vitamin D to feel normal again. __________________ Ridin' with Biden |

Your endocrinologist is concientious. I don't have an answer for you, but I'ld like to know that myself. So I'll follow here.
I take vit D 1000 units twice a day. I was told by a doctor years ago to do that. I have no idea what my blood level is. This might be a bit off topic, but low iron reserves can also cause fatigue. A lot of us are walking around iron deficient. Even when there is no anemia, there can be iron deficiency. The blood test for that is "ferritin," which should be over 100. Doctors don't often check that. I hope you feel better. |

I take 5000 MGS of vitamin D. It took a couple weeks to feel better. Maybe your dose isn't high enough.

Until your vitamin D levels are back up to a normal range again

My primary doctor says it can take weeks or longer. He told me I shouldn't be expecting any relief after just 2 weeks. He also said its possible I might have a B12 defiency which can cause similar fatigue and he says I have some viral thing that needs to be treated with steroids. He did a full metabolic blood count test today.
So anyways, it takes weeks to feel better after starting vitamin D __________________ Ridin' with Biden |
