I don’t know what’s going on, but I’m very tired every minute of every day. My skin is also very dry and I’ve noticed strands of my hair have been coming out. I saw a new doctor to establish care and got some bloodwork done— my money was on it being my levothyroxine dosage. Hasn’t been changed in years. I haven’t heard from her yet and although i got a notification that the results were uploaded, they were uploaded to a medical portal that i no longer have access to. So yeah, that’s annoying. I’ve been working on eating healthier— basically, cooking all my meals and portioning them out in meal prep containers. I want to start working out, it’s just that I’m so exhausted all the time, it’s like a losing battle. I don’t know what’s going on, I’m just tired of being tired.

@indigo1015 hi there. I am sorry to hear you are always exhausted. I hope you can contact your doctor in some way to interpret the results of the blood tests.
I have some experience with medical portals. If you contact the medical organization associated with that portal you might be able to get access to it again. Hope you find out what is making you feel exhausted from your medical people. @CANDC thanks for the condolences. I called them this morning — the woman I spoke with interrupted me a lot and was a bit rude, but whatever… to be fair, I had called them shortly after they opened. They uploaded my lab results at least… I still want to talk to the doctor because this doesn’t feel right. Yesterday I slept for most of the day. I cooked something and meal prepped and that was pretty much it other than sleeping. This isn’t normal.

@indigo1015 I think contacting your doctor is a good idea.
I have had sleepiness result from high carb low protein diet and found by cutting back carbs a lot that I feel much more energized. I also exercise. They say sleeping too much can make you feel sleepy. I also avoid any type of intoxicant because those also make me sleepy. Do you take a multivitam with minimum daily requirements including iron? When my PCP was monitoring levothyroxine dosage, she went with the standard guidance for the TSH levels. When my care was transferred to an endocrinologist, she required a much lower goal for the TSH levels (under 2.5) and increased my dosage of levothyroxine until I met the goal. My dosage was ultimately increased from 75 mcg to 100 mcg. And I feel much better now. So I would recommend having an endocrinologist care for your thyroid issues, not the PCP.

@CANDC thanks for the suggestions. I also find that high-carb foods make it worse. I’m very skeptical of multivitamins and supplements. I know a bit about them as I am a pharmacy technician, and frankly, people either overdo it with them or the amount of actual active ingredient isn’t enough to justify the cost of the whole bottle. Agreed that checking TSH levels is not always the whole answer to the problem; seeing an endocrinologist requires a referral if i want my insurance to pay for it, so that is an option to pursue down the road. My doc called me with the results today— i am still prediabetic (Been that way for years) and my triglyceride levels need improvement. Yay.

I also do not believe in taking a multi, but I take vit D, prescribed by the internist, iron, prescribed by the hematologist, and a high dose of vit B6, prescribed by the psychiatrist. All those micronutroents have specific indications in my case; they are not taken as a general insurance policy.
Triglycerides will go down if you improve the diet by removing high carb foods. Prediabetes will improve with exercise, but you cannot exercise being perpetually tired. So getting to the bottom of your being exhausted is the next step. But at least you are still prediabetic. It hasn't worsened over the years, a good sign.

It’s just that I see so many people who take dozens is vitamins and supplements (my dad is one of them), and not only can it be harmful, but it’s just a waste of money a lot of the time. Obviously, being prescribed it is a different situation. I’ve been eating way more produce lately— I bring bento boxes or Greek salads to work lunch because Greek salads are one of the only salads I can stand (not a salad lover by nature). I don’t really like sweets to begin with, which is probably a good thing. I like the cotton candy grapes, but I don’t eat a lot in one sitting. My big problem is nighttime eating— it’s been an issue for me for many years. My therapist and I are trying to break the cycle, but it’s definitely a process. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I love cotton candy grapes. I get it.
And yes, many people take so many supplements that, as the saying goes, they produce expensive urine . @indigo1015 I hear you. If we eat a good diet we should get most of the vitamins we need but sometimes dietary differences may make.
I have people in my family that really overdid the sugar and carbs and ended up on insulin. That is very expensive as you well know. But other members have moderated their diet adn avoided lots of carba, sugar and alcohol and they managed not to have to go on insulin. I feel the sacrifice of carbs is worth it and besides having cut them out and cut back on salt and my taste for sweetness is satisfied by half a piece of fruit. @CANDC oh I definitely agree with you— personal responsibility and accountability is a major factor in preventing diabetes. Me personally, I’ve always been a salt fiend lol. Fortunately, my blood pressure was excellent at this past appointment. My dad’s on Ozempic now— I don’t want to get to that point if at all possible.

So yesterday I was outside for part of the morning cleaning my balcony, and it did wonders for me. It was so satisfying cleaning off all the crud, and something about being outside and doing something physical really energized me. I cleaned my whole condo after that and was literally bouncing off the walls for the rest of the day.
