Am I screwed? I'm just in bed trying to sleep. My right shoulder is killing me too but I thought it was from my treadmill.

My mom just took it and it was 137/94. She told me to not worry and go to bed.

Why are you worried about your blood pressure? Serious question. On the one hand, it seems like you are using it like body temperature, where a high reading indicating a fever means you have an infection somewhere.

OTOH, HBP usually has a reason behind it, doesnt it? Like white coat syndrome, or recent intense exercise, or high cholesterol, or high stress. Or as a known side effect of a medication. Do any of these apply in your case? There are probably other reasons, im not a dr. Im just wondering why you are wondering. I do monitor my blood pressure, and your readings would not alarm me.

My blood pressure was high at my kidney doctors so he told me to monitor it. I just take it whenever I feel off.

I took it as soon as I woke up which my mom told me to do and it was 132/91.

My doctor wanted me to call him if the bottom number stayed above 90

Oh, okay i get it.

So when he said your kidneys are fine at your last visit, what he really meant was, but we will keep an eye on them. Which is the right thing to do, based on your meds, which do affect your kidneys.

I wouldnt worry about an occasional high reading, but i would start recording, at least once a week, when you wake up, before you start moving around too much, stay still calm down take a reading and write it down. Then he will be able to see if it is gradually moving up or what, and adjust meds and diet accordingly.

I was told that bottom number above 90 is something to be concerned about. Now sometimes it might be that you ate ton of salty stuff a night before. It might be nothing but if it remains above 90, call your doc
