My GI doctor wants to put me on 10mg for my GI symptoms. He says on this low of a dose I shouldn't have any side effects. He said to just be mindful of some stuff with my Prestiq. But I was reading some scary stuff on google about this med when I got home.
Does anyone have any expirence on this low of a dose? __________________ I'm Blue |

I just took it half an hour ago because some guy online said he took it at 6PM and didn't wake up until 11AM.
I'm drowsy but I haven't fallen asleep. My anxiety seems better then earlier when it was really bad. I did call my pdoc because I'm worried about seretonin syndrome and I want to be sure hes ok with me being on this. But again my GI doctor said I'd be ok on just 10mg. __________________ I'm Blue |

It is a small dose. I was on it for sleep. It still eventually caused hypomania and weight gain. But at the dose that low, I would not worry about the serotonin syndrome. More about hypomania and weight gain. But in your case, since GI symptoms are severe, maybe the cost and benefit analysis tips the scale in favor of doing Elavil, possibly as a PRN.

My pdoc won't let me take it. He said its not safe. I said it was only 10mg but he said no. I think hes just full of **** to be honest. I filled out a release for him to talk to my GI himself. I see him on Monday so I hope he has something to say.

They figured it out so I've been taking it now for about a week.
Its been amazing for my anxiety and agoraphobia. I'm going places at 4PM I wouldn't go to at 10AM. Also my energy levels have improved a lot. I've been doing laundry at 8PM and other stuff. My sleep is pretty good. I'm getting about 8-10 hours but the med does make me tired. I'm eating less actually. And I'm making better food choices. Its working good for my stomach pain. I'm still throwing up and my mom wants to call my GI doctor but I don't want to be on a higher dose because I'm worried I'll develop side effects. __________________ I'm Blue |

Sounds like this med at this low dose is an amazing fit for you.
