I lived with a family, as a nanny type live in, and cared for their three girls to the point they would call ME "Mommy.." more than they did their own mother.....their own mother would let me (or any of my friends that she did not even know) take their kids for thr week-end, loving the free time they got while the kids were away, wanting to talk to MYSELF and my FRIENDS when the week-end was up, STILL ignoring their kids when they got home from a week-end away, calling the kids names for no reason, basically handing off all parenting to me, and encouraging it this way.
I maintained contact after I moved out, and watched the girls grow, now, the middle child is 16 and has become a friend of mine, she feels she can confide in me..and she told me she had sex with her boyfriend this last week-end, his step-Dad knows but will keep it a secret from his Mom, one of Katelyn's mother figures knows and is just asking questions about whether she feels pregnant, I am the only one talking to her about contraception, making her an appointment for tomorrow morning with Planned Parenthood. I feel VERY responsible for the future of this 16 year's old life, as if it is in my hands...

What a heavy burden to carry and yet how wonderful for that young girl that she has someone she trusts to give her advice.

remember that all you can do is guide...
the burden is hers as well what you can do is give her the very best advice possible, and it sounds like you're doing that
