My lab manager invited my bf and I over for dinner on Memorial Day. When we got there they announced they were pregnant - about 3 months along. They were so excited, just got married last July. They're closing on a new, bigger house this coming Monday and it was like everything for them was coming together. Her mom had already started buying baby stuff.

Well she went to the doc yesterday and he told her the baby had stopped developing and he couldn't find a heartbeat. She is in her 30s and this was her first pregnancy. She knew she had issues with low progesterone levels but was on supplements but the doc thinks that's what did it.

Even though I have only known them a year, it hurt so bad to see them like that. And it started to scare me too. I know I want kids but will be in grad school until I'm almost 30. It scares me to death that something like this could happen to me. I'm not really looking for advice, I guess. Just throwing some emotions out there. When it does happen for them I am very confident that they will be awesome parents. It really sucks to see this happen to such good people who would bend over backwards for anyone if they needed it.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friends saluki. I'm sure they are heartbroken and I pray they are able to get pregnant again with a positive outcome.

Please remember though, everyone is different. If you are worried about your levels, you can have them checked every now and again to make sure you are where you need to be come the time for you to have children.

I'm sorry too for your loss....sounds like their child and you would be close.
