My stepdaughter"s Mom loves taking pictures, or having them taken and has had (for a while now) been taking grown up type pictures of my 10 year old stepdaughter. Make up, poses, face expressions etc. This latest batch presented to us make me extremely uncomfortable. To see a 10 year old posing like this, with make up and bright red lipstick is just totally wrong. I worry about the vanity this is creating in my stepdaughter who is already quite precocious and I worry about these photos falling into the wrong hands.

I admit that hubby thinks his daughter can do no wrong so he just shrugged at the pictures, agreed he didn't like them and left it at that.

I am not in a position to do anything about this, I just wanted to get it off my chest. These pictures are going to get dumped in the photo box. There is no way I am framing them.

Shudder!

I'm on your side, Sabrina. That's too young. My husband would agree, too. I happen to be a stepmom, too, of an 11 year old. Her mother does stupid things that burn me up,too. My stepdaughter is coming home in a few days after spending the summer with her mom. She highlighted her hair!! I think it's too young to start highlighing. We warned our daughter when she went down there, that if she gets her hair highlighted, we are not paying to maintain it!
Thanks for this!

There is NO WAY i would ever ever take anykind of provactive pictures of her even if i knew they would never leave my house! What kind of mssg does that send to the girl?
Im sorry , i would feel very uncomfortable viewing those too...hopefully the mom doesnt expect you to frame them.
I dont even let my daughter wear red nailpolish or wear skirts with heels....(sneakers only)....
Thanks for this!

Glad there's still *some* sensible parents around. I fear for little girls in beauty pageants
Thanks for this!
