He is almost twenty. Goes to college in CAnada. Says that she was the only woman he has ever loved.

I reacted with internal relief that he is straight. Not because I have anything against gay men. Nope, homosexuality is wonderful and I sign all sorts of online petitions for gay rights, but I know that it is easier in this world if you are straight so I was relieved.

I thanked him for trusting me with something so deeply personal.

Is there anything else that would be helpful to say without being corny and condescending?

What else is there to say other than I love you and I'm sorry you're hurting.
