He is almost twenty. Goes to college in CAnada. Says that she was the only woman he has ever loved.
I reacted with internal relief that he is straight. Not because I have anything against gay men. Nope, homosexuality is wonderful and I sign all sorts of online petitions for gay rights, but I know that it is easier in this world if you are straight so I was relieved. I thanked him for trusting me with something so deeply personal. Is there anything else that would be helpful to say without being corny and condescending? |

What else is there to say other than I love you and I'm sorry you're hurting.
