My daughter is 10 and still not right. I spent the day for wound care training with a continence nurse and she suggested that I go to a specialist and have her tested for hirschprungs. Hirschsprung's is usually diagnosed at birth but she could have a mild form

Thanks. We do know it's encopresis & she's also been labeled w/ a defiant disorder. We ran the gamete of medical concerns & treatments a few yrs ago & we still have big issues.
Wondering if we should look into the medical part of it again

My daughter isn't defiant. Just won't take the time to sit on the potty. She is improving. Is yours able to have a normal BM at all? We rely on Miralax and if she misses more than a day she gets bloated

She's able to make bowel movements & she's also been on miralax for over 5 yrs. We ask her to sit when we think she has to go but can't really force her. She's too old now for us to ask her to show us clean underwear bec she wants privacy. So we just guess & sniff a lot bec we can smell it.

I know a time is coming when she comes home from school crying bec someone has said or teased her about it.
I don't know what to do for her anymore.

I'm right here with you. I'm going to try having her use a "squatty potty". Search it on YouTube, its really creative marketing and looks like a good idea
