This thread, I'm hoping, for other parents to use to share something about their experience as a parent or something you learned from your kids that made you think.

Many threads can focus on the negative part of parenting & all the anxiety it can cause. I was hoping you could post here something that would cheer us up!
Make me smile, giggle, nod my head in agreement!

Hope this helps.

I love "Modern Family." Sure, we don't live in a magnificent house and there's no trophy wife from Colombia, but the best part is how the kids remind parents that we are not as hip as we think we still are. I get that alot. And it's the truth!

My oldest, a boy, was about 3 and my daughter was 1 1/2. She was standing on a kitchen chair to reach something on the table. I told my son to get her down, of course envisioning him gently putting his arms around her waist and lifting her down. Nope. He grabbed her leg and pulled. I believe this is called obeying the letter of the law. lol

I learned to explain how to do things in more detail.

Oh Iris, that's priceless!

I immediately thought of how certain words were tongue twisters when my girls were 2-3 yrs old. Hospital=Hostaple, Squirrel=Swirla, Spaghetti=Pasketti..

It's cute how they mispronounce things. I remember my younger daughter called oranges "sunkisses".

We watch a lot of musicals. I love when all my kids sing "....keep it happy, keep it snappy, keep it gay!" From the producers.
Great springboard for different lifestyles.

My 5yo swings around the bathroom door, tooth brush in mouth & butt naked & snaps his fingers..."mom! Shut up & dance with me!"
Gotta love pop music lol
