Honestly, it's stupid that children can do a lot of things that are normal and then when you get to a certain age it isn't. For example I was told off for wearing shorts first time ever to be honest "because there was men in the house and it's not respectful" I thought that made no sense and I was honestly creeped out and confused that anyone would think a young adult wearing shorts would be offensive. However it is not my house so I put extra clothes on it just paints a frightening image as I have never been implied that my body was "offensive". So I do didn't know how to react so I just cried.

My mom wanted me to dress conservatively, too. She was a modest dresser and that was the appropriate way for us to dress.

After I moved out, I developed my own clothing style that I wanted for me. I just had to abide by her rules while living there, which is understandable.

Hmmmm to me in implies that the men in the house don't have self-control if someone wearing shorts causes them such a problem.....it has nothing to do with implying that your body is offensive IMO.
