Hi,
I'm new to the community. I heard about the website through a podcast. Then later, I came across the site through a google search about a topic. I'm seeking advice and guidance in reference to my child. I believe that my child's father and his wife are narcissistic. Recently, my child has been bullied and mistreated by the step mother's children who are older. Also, my child's father and his wife have a child together. The child that they have together is treated like the golden child. Their child together gets anything they want and the other children get punished every time the child they have together accuses the other children of anything. It's really a sad situation. My concern is that summer visitation will start up soon, and I'm concerned with my child's well-being especially since my child will be with their father and his wife for longer than just a weekend. Any advice or suggestions and prayer is welcomed! |

Hello and welcome to Psych Central! I'm so sorry you and your child are going through this mistreatment. I'll certainly pray. I put "seek professional help for myself" because a counselor can help you get perspective and ideas for dealing with things. The counselor should also be able to help you decide if your child also needs counseling.
Please keep us informed. We care. |

Can you revise the court order? How old is your child? If a child refuses to visit the other parent, what are the laws around that where you live?
Does your child have a cell phone? Can he contact you whenever he's feeling attacked? I'd definitely seek professional advice. |

Hey @SeekingAnswers20 do you mean narcisisstic as in a personality disorder? Or do you really mean neglectful, mean and bad parenting? Many people use that label and mean things other than a mental health issue. I try to ask this question just for clarification.
