My 16 year old son has been good to me.I have been raising him on my own since he was 3 months old.His dad left us for no reason when he was 3 months old. Also had a great step dad that passed in January. This was hard,he was close with him. Also is glad I raised him right not making the bad choices in life.He likes my current boyfriend and has told me this. With me,he sees me like any normal mom and knows about the Pituritary dwarfism I have.It does irritate him being asked if he has a little sister telling the person no,says I am his mom.He has been educated about the pituritary dwarfism, one is watching the show,I Am Shauna Rae whom also has this as well.I am glad he came out a good kid so far.

@Stronglady1 I have seen incredible people who had dwarfism. I am so glad that you and your son have such a great relationship.

@Stronglady1 thank you for sharing that video of Shauna Rae. It showed the brave spirit of a person who does not appear as the same size as other people their age, but it also shows how challenging it must be to travel around a world that is meant for people who are taller.
Glad you are finding ways to adjust to life as it is. You are an example of a person with a big heart and a kind disposition. @CANDC __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |

I learned to accept I am this way.Tried growth hormones at 6 years old that did not work.My son is becoming a good young man and he does things without being told.He also does have a job as well.Mother's day last year,he made me a step for the bathroom in wood shop I still use which I put in front of the vanity.I was using a chair before this.Much more sturdier than the chair

@Stronglady1 wow your son sounds so supportive of you. That is wonderful.
So I am trying to understand how challenging that is for you. You mentioned the steps and in the video the lady was standing on a chair to look in the mirror. If you are comfortable sharing, I am interested to know what other adaptations have you made to cope with the challenges of having a smaller body than some people? Thank you for sharing. @CANDC __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |

I knew a lady that was very petite. She told me she worked as a mechanic on planes during World War II because she was the only one small enough to fit in there.
