I think this is a wonderful idea.
I have a question, my 10yr has ADHD, and I'm having some trouble with impulse issues. I've spoken to his Dr and she has put him on an additional medicine, which doesn't seem to be helping. I feel like I'm constantly repeating myself, and that is actually one of my triggers. (I have PTSD) If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them Thanks again for this forum. |

I think this is exactly what my partner and I are looking for. She found this site on one of her internet searches for advice and told me about it. We are 2 women raising a 15 year old girl and still raising a 21 year old boy. Both are her children from previous marriages, as she did not come out of the closet until 3 years ago. It has been a transition for both her and her kids getting used to Mom being in a relationship with a woman, and a transition for me learning to be a step parent. I'm hoping that we can get some advice regarding some of the issues we are each facing individually and the ones we face together.
Thank you. |

Hi, I am a mother of two boys, ages 4 and 2...my 4 year-old is very difficult and shows me some behavior that I can only describe as bipolar...everyone in my community tells me that he is normal...do you have any good books to suggest that I can read to help me parent him in a more effective way? Thanks, P

Thank you so much DocJohn. The internet is a blessing and sites like these are great blessings to have. When everybody benefits the world benefit, our kids would definitely benefit.
I'd give anything to be a healthy parent though at times it's just way off my control. I know it will get better, especially with help. I pray to be on track with my spiritual path but sometimes I get totally lost like now. You give me hope again. To be a healthy parent, I know I need to be healthy in all ways. I need to work on myself, I need to connect to a good source of help and I need an outlet, I need a place where I feel save enough to dig out the dirt I have inside, a place to learn healthy way of being. Thank you so much from the depth of my heart. p.s. Looking forward to posting more. |

I have a child with ADHD. if I zero in on him, with eye contact, I can zero in on his mood behavior. This helps me to see where he going, and where I need to focus with his moods

I don't have a young one at home now. My granddaughter is 15 going on 25. LOL I am extremely interested in parenting however as my background is in the development and guidance of children (birth through 12). I look forward to offering support here.
