Anyone have any thought as to how safe immunizations are these days? Feel strongly one way or the other?
My son will be five in June and ever since he was about oh-6 months old my husband and I decided to opt out of the immunizations. That was right about the time when the whole Thymerisol issue and Autism came about, so we just didn't feel comfortable enough doing it. Now my son will start school in the fall and the principal told me that I just had to sign a waiver to get him started. (And the physical of course.) But she also said that if they had an outbreak of any kind he would be asked to stay home. I don't really have a problem with that. Anyone gone through this already? Anything I should know before he starts school? Im just so worried about it all anyway, lol. He is my only child and my baby, so of course Im a wreck. __________________ Dance as though no one is watching you.... I opted out untill they was four then I felt they were old enough for me to be able to tell about any side effects, I have to say they were fine with the injections.

I understand your fears, but I would really REALLY do so research about this. I looked into the Autism thing when my oldest, now 21 was a toddler. It was inconclusive at that time, you’d think that in the 18ish years since then if there was something to it, it would be all over the news. I had to help one of my kids with a science project promoting immunizations, and I REALLY looked for some evidence that they could cause just as much harm as good, I was specifically looking for the Autism connection and either there is none, or they're really good at hiding it. There has to be some reason why the US has the highest Autism rate in the world.
What I HAVE seen on the news here, is an outbreak of measles. A child that had not gotten his shots got some babies really sick in a day care center here. I did not realize how sick measles could make an infant, I just thought that it was one of those things like chicken pox. Over a week in ICU. It's your choice, but I'd really look into before making the decision. __________________ I've been married for 24 years and have four wonderful children. |
