Some body help me before I have to go inside my mind and mentally strangle the finance office at my son's school.

These people have done nothing but give me heart ache since the day I applied for my sons first installment loan for college...

and now today I get a call telling me that my son is not going to be able to obtain the full 14,000 we added to the loan for his living expense (even though the loan has been approved) because the school's budget office has decided that he does not need that much for eight months of personal expenses since he is living at home with his parents.

Did they not listen to me when I said (many times over) that we were getting extra money on the loan so my son could move away from home to be closer to school... and who the heck are they to tell me what I can and can not do with my money just because it is coming through a school loan - a loan mind you that I am paying back - not them.

I am so angry right now................. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

The thought of that happening (to them by me) relieved a little stress... if only for a moment.

Thx.

P.S.

Oh and one more thing..... the office encouraged me to lie and say that my son is already living off campus or that I charge him rent & half of the bills for food / electric & water just so the full amount we are asking for would be approved by the school.... once again I have to say "what gives them the right to decide how much I allow my son to have to spend per month" - not to mention that I have raised my boys not to lie and what kind of mother would I be to lie to just to get my way - heck it was the school that messed up let them fix their own mistake.

With the economy being the way it is, the banks are trying to cover their azzes better... That being said, your best bet is to charge him the rent, etc...so that he can get the loan and move forward...

(((((Rhapsody))))) dealing with them is so stressful! Just wait until they lose his authorization for you to talk to them. You get a frantic call from your child because there is a financial hold and the person you talk to can't talk to you because they can't find the authorization.
