For a month and a half ive almost given up on treatment. I dont have a place in my head for it. Maybe I was just letting myself take care of some issues i was having. Like everything else you return to what works. So returning to my sessions with my psychologist is whats next.i had some serious test done and believe i just had enough of medical for a while, sounding ungrateful i cant deny the appreciation i have for them. Having a psychologist and a counslet have been very helpful.

It's good that you're taking steps to get back into care. I have dropped out of care in the past too and it can be hard to reconnect and take that step. If treatment has been helpful to you in the past then that's a good thing to remind yourself. Try to make a note to yourself or think about it whenever you think of cancelling an appointment or not taking medication. Tell yourself that you have been happier, stronger, or better overall when you have gotten care. It can be important for us to hear our own words, even if it means writing ourselves a letter that we can look at in the future when we start to doubt. Good luck!

Definitely. I've been on and off medications many times in the past. A lot of times because I felt like the "real me" was the unmedicated me. I felt like I had lost touch with the intensity of my emotions, good and bad, as well as dampened my creativity with medications.

Over the years I've realized that the consequences of the disorder are far worse than the side effects of the medication. I don't mind not having as intense of depressions as before, and I also can still be creative on the medication. It's just that fewer of my creative bursts are from pain.

This is exactly how I feel and one of the bigger reasons I do not take psych meds anymore...
