Has anyone heard of Austin Riggs Center in Massachusetts? I have been eying the treatment center for many years. Any experience would be so welcome.

I am needing more intensive treatment. Any other good recommendations for trauma treatment?

Thanks for any thoughts!

Sarah

Sorry, Sarah, I have never heard of the Austin Riggs Center in Massachusetts. I'm from CA. Have you ever tried a partial hospitalization program (PHP) or an intensive outpatient program (IOP)? I just went through an IOP last Autumn and am still in Aftercare through that facility. It's been really helpful, though my issue isn't trauma so much. PHP you get to go home at night. IOP is less time per day than PHP and you get to go home at night or may be able to do it Zoom or online somehow. I've been inpatient (IP) and it's really tough. It's not something I am keen on doing again in the future but if I have to I will. Do you have a therapist? What do they think of that treatment facility? Does your therapist think you need more intensive treatment than they can provide? They should be able to give you referrals. I found the IOP by myself though, my therapist didn't help. I have since switched therapists. Best of luck to you, Kit
