I received some confusing tax coding notices about two months ago. I didn't fully understand them and felt their assumptions were way off. I didn't want to battle the phone systems, so I wrote to them with my concerns. This was in early June. I hadn't heard from them and out of the blue they called me this week. They were quite thorough and put my concerns to rest.

It is not like I have much income. Most of it is interest paid on my shrinking savings. I have received a small pension since I reached 60 earlier this year. It is not a lot but I was paying tax. I got the tax back and I no longer pay any. That is some good news. $33 a month extra. It's party time !!

I worry about my finances. I worry about a lot of things. This chat with the man from the Tax people has removed some of my reasons to worry. I will find something else to worry about. That is the nature of the beast.
