Well I, for one at least, am glad the insurance company waited until after the elections to send out the Open Season packets. Seems they adjusted their time window to Nov-Dec from Oct-Nov. Before the elections they were talking of 40% premium hikes. I was honestly considering dropping it and putting what I do pay now into an account for when I needed it.

But, with them waiting, for whatever reason they are only raising my premium by $50.00. Yes, that is still quite a chunk, but even though I'm on disability, I do receive an inflation indexed supplemental adjusted each January. Hopefully it will cover this $50.00 increase. That % is slightly higher than last year's but not the 40% warned about . Whew! Thank you Lord!

All packets should be received by today I think. We have until December 14th to choose. Of course, if I stay with the same, I don't have to do anything, it will automatically renew itself. However I do need to let them know I have a different PO Box.

I had heard, well before the elections, that increases would about 10-20%.

That's what they were this last year, nothing new. I really think if some things hadn't begun to look up, the costs of premiums would have gone up that 40%
