Apparently, if you are not in crisis or bleeding and in the ER, people don't take you seriously. I have no insurance and make minimum wage so I don't qualify for Medicaid. How does one get assistance if they're too poor to afford it on their own, but make JUST enough to not qualify for help?
Does anyone know of places in Indiana to go that work with you on a sliding scale? Getting a little desperate here. I don't want to go to the hospital because then I'll lose my job. But so far, it's the only option I see. Thanks for your help. |

Yes, i know EXACTLY what you mean.
St. Vincent hospitals take you on a sliding scale fee, and the St. Vincent Stress Center in Indianapolis is an exact place that will take you on a sliding scale. they have okay food, and great care. And they only keep you as long as you need. I've seen people leave within 3 hours, and stay up to 2 weeks. (unless your waiting for another place such as in a state hospital, then you could be there for a month to 5 months.) But they are very nice and friendly there. They also have outpatient services. __________________ .........
