I'm not sure where this belongs:

My last appointment with my psychiatrist was in June. I had one scheduled in July but had to cancel due to mother in law becoming critically ill ( lives in another state). They could not give me another appointment until the end of September. I was out of refills on 3 meds (one a schedule 2) So I've had to get my scripts for the last 2 months without seeing my Pdoc ( i've been seeing him for 3 years). My insurance isn't accepted by any other pdocs within 50 miles.
Does anyone else have problems getting appointments? I just think this is wrong.

August is typically vacation month (like the entire month!) for T's, and I think many pdocs, once you are on the same med schedule, do just see you every 3 months. Then there may be back-to-school rush? I know if I cancel my pdoc (at uni hosp), it means a delay of at least a few weeks. Can you at least get your refills? If not, I would call back and ask them to squeeze you in. Good luck.

You could always ask to be on the cancellation list
