Hi everyone,

I always feel really bad when I read about, or hear about, people who want to get help, but can't because they can't afford it...whether it be hospitalizations, medications, therapy, etc. I have grown up in a place where I get all of my health care needs for free, and although I am grateful, I will admit that I do take it for granted sometimes.

I can't even imagine where I'd be, or even if I'd be alive, if I hadn't gotten the help I needed. And if I had been somewhere where I couldn't afford the help? I don't like to think about it.

I know this post probably seems pointless, because I can't DO anything to help these people out who are struggling. I can't change health care systems. I just wanted to let everyone know that this is an issue that means a lot to me, and I wish I could help in some way. For those of you who struggle to afford the health care that you need and deserve, you are in my thoughts.

I agree...thank you for caring. I'm one of those people who can't afford help.

Melissa just knowing that people care is important. You may not be able to change things but you can be concerned for others. It displays compassion which can help. I know I am one of those that has fallen thru the cracks of our social care. We need others to care or it will never change!
