Currently, I am on disability. It is my goal to eventually get a part-time job and supplement that income as I feel better. My question is this. Will they eventually take away the disability and/or Medicare
if you get any job even when you are only able to work part-time or is it just based on the amount of bucks you make while you're on disability?

I think it would make me feel a lot better and be healthier if I could handle some type of part-time work but don't want to do it if they are going to take away my disability while I am still sick. Who has experience with this issue?

You can only make A certain amount a month. I think it's 1000. if you choose to go back full time you'll get a 9 month grace. Period to prove you can work gull time and you wint Lise your benefits. After the nine months if your going strong notify ssi your working so you do end up having to repay the govt

The amount you make depends on the amount you recieve and also what kind of benifits you recieve

EX: I get SSD and I work 8 hours a week. If I make more then 742.00 a month for a 9 month period then they will consider me no longer elidagable for SSDI Payments. My payments would stop. However dif I could no longer work then my payments would start again. I would not have to reapply.

My sis on the other had gets SSI. What erver amount she makes at work is deducted from her SSI Payment. So If she gets 500.00 from SSI and she works and makes 100.00 then whe would only get 400.00 from SSI.

This is how it works for her and me.

I belive this is the way it is. If you go to the web site for SSI you can read what it says there

http://www.ssa.gov/disability/

click on the Ticket to Work/Work Incentives tab to find out about working
