i have no clue what to do anymore...
just before new years, my parents told me i was moving out. i had basically two options of where to move to! the biggest problem is that i have no income and haven't worked in over four years. i applied last year for SSI/SS disability and was denied. i talked with a lawyer and was told that i will most likely keep getting denied because of my age. (i'm 26 years old, 27 in april) and now i find out that SSI and Social Security disability decisions are made based on 1 ruling! so that means i am pretty much screwed!! plus, the lawyer told me that SS disability cases last about a year and a half (from application to a hearing result). holy crap. i don't have any fight left in me. my parents keep b***hing at cuz they think i'm too financially dependent on them. and i don't even have it in me to argue with them anymore. so how the he** am i suppose to do this? i need someone to fight for me - cuz i don't want to fight anymore... |

Hey, jrae,
You sure you can't work at anything at all? The reason I ask is because to an outsider like me, who knows nothing else about you, that seems like the easiest way out, if it's possible. Any kind of paid employment at all. If your psych situation really makes that impossible, have you talked to any of the counselors at your local county or state social work office? There are other people in your situation with whom those people have dealt and they have a pretty good idea what's possible and what's not. Your folks don't sound particularly sympathetic. Is there a reason for that? Is there some kind of bad blood between you? Have they tried to help you find help? A job? Advice? What education do you have? What job experience? What's your psych diagnosis? Are you in therapy now? All these things affect not only what outside experts will tell you but also what you'll hear here on PC. Look forward to reading your reply! Take care! Quote:

if your in really bad shape like i am, and have medical records to prove it get a lawyer to do ss claim for you. cost you 25 percent of back pay will be fee. but they help with paper work. heck mine usually lets me know before dars or ssa does and can usually do paper work over phone and they word it better. long road to win yes but worth it. can give you a good lawyer if your interested. have good support can get ahold of em everytime i try
