You could probably find that answer on the social security website ... If they're based on your employment contributions I'd think it wouldn't matter ... Nevertheless don't delay finding out ... the last thing you'd want is to owe them money you weren't supposed to get ... Tricky stuff like taxes and such ...

I don't mean to pry or question your situation but you posted a week or so back that you wanted to get away from him but couldn't leave him due to your financial situation. You also mentioned that he gets paid off the books. I"m not questioning your honesty but if we don't get the accurate story our advice is not going to be very useful.

Anytime there is a change in your situation, like number of people living with you in your house you must notify them quickly! Or George is right. I would suggest that for now you and your husband should live apart. Because if things don't work out he could always report you to SS. And you will find yourself in alot of trouble. First take care of yourself, become stable, and see how things are in a year.
