I have Uni health insurance because it's all we can afford.
I got a doctors authorization to see a specialist for migraines. It was another long wait, without medication or interim help. Get there today for my appointment and the insurance company decides my history of migraines and doctor referral don't matter; they want ANOTHER referral from this one person at the Uni Health Center. So I had to reschedule (it will be another month again) and I'm standing outside the health center in the cold waiting for walk-on hours to start because it's impossible to get an appointment. Same thing happens two days ago with getting an IUD removed. I'm mad and crying. I JUST WANT MEDICAL CARE. I'd go on my husbands insurance, but that would mean losing the ability to see a psych and paying $400 a month more than his $50/month for just him. We kind of need that money. For petty things, like food. |

I hope this doctor can help you in the interim, even if he also refers you to a specialist! How frustrating to have to hurt and jump through hoops at the same time.

Sorry to hear that. I get migraines too and they suck big time. I cant go to pain specialist anymore bc my insurance is so cheap. Just dont give up. Youll get there. The insurance propably hopes to save money by you giving up on process.
