I have been unemployed sort of since October last year but got a job in January however due to anxiety and issues I left that after two days. I haven’t found a job since and I am having extremely bad anxiety and making it difficult for myself to get back into work. If any employer would even consider my application. Even if I did get lucky I don’t think I would be in a place to start work or give it a good go. I am 19 years old and only have retail experience and really bad anxiety, self esteem issues.

My question is I have never claimed JSA or been to the job centre. I have been putting it off because of my anxiety and leaving those jobs. You have to have a “just cause” for leaving your job. Also because of what I am like, I am only going to get myself into trouble for not being ready for work or turning it down.

Sorry to much info back story my question is this do I just pluck up some courage and apply for JSA.

OR

Do I not do apply for JSA, but still try and look for work and apply to go back to college in September and see where that takes me. It’s not like I would be doing anything wrong by not applying for JSA because not everyone qualifies right. So would this be a better option. Also I would volunteer at same time while looking for work and while waiting to go back to college.

I'd contact a career advisor and see what they have to say:
