I had a really bad CPTSD day today. I always have bad CPTSD thoughts when I take long walks. It had me deeply troubled.

When I got home, there was a letter from my local Social Security office. I had filed for disability several months ago. I have been approved. I went online to check my benefits. The monthly benefit is barely enough to scrape by on. I will start looking for a part-time job as a supplement. Tomorrow, I will go to the Social Security office to inquire if I quality for health benefits and food stamps. Hopefully, I can start to rebuild a career and a life. I am thankful. I hope it will help me heal the anger and bitterness inside me from all the abuse I have suffered over the years. I really want to get well.

If it is truly disability thatr you were approved for, be very careful about getting a part time job. Make sure the social security people know you are doing it or they can take all of your benefits away.

As for health benefits - I had to be on disability for 2 years before I qualified for medicare. Food stamps wouldn't go through the social security office, that would be through like your state/local human services department,

Oh that is wonderful unhappyguy, while it is not as much as you would like, it is somtehing that will add to your sense of safety that you need to help you overcome and be able to think about more positive things. And you are thinking forward now, that is wonderful and you do deserve that.

Thank you for letting us know the good news. Many of us have been praying for you.

That does sound like a nice little help. Good luck on the healing work. I think food supplements come through SNAP: http://www.fns.usda.gov/snap/

My SSA social worker told me to keep working because I only get $350.00 a month. I was fired a couple weeks ago. I cannot get unemployment because I'm on SSDI.

* gentle hugs , sitting near *

acceptance into the program is great even if the $ level isn't.
Sorry. Just proceed slowly with things like jobs, go to
"right people" for "right answers"

listen to me...
You're the one who figured it out!
Congrats, unguy.
