I was just approved for disability this past May. Through several strokes of luck - the three prior temps either did not work (1) out or left because they found permanent jobs (2) - I was placed in the position. After 1 week, both bosses really seem to like my work. Tomorrow I meet with the office manager (who was on vacation last week). Though I am replacing someone on maternity leave, there is a chance that I may become permanent. (The agency says the firm will not hire new permanent employees and that I will always be a temp.) The employee on leave is due to return in October.

As required, I have notified SSDI about the temp job. I will see how it goes. It is good to be working but there is definitely a strain on my body. I spent a lot of the weekend sleeping to recuperate. Since I am working for a law firm and the person I report to is a partner, there is a chance I will become permanent since they carry a lot of authority. I will see what happens.
