I am feeling really frustrated and scared right now. Last Thursday, I found out at day treatment that my state insurance dropped me down to a level that was not going to cover my treatment. With the help of staff and the program director, we made some phone calls, and we were told the issue would be fixed within 48 hours. This also affected my transportation.
This morning we found out the transportation was still not fixed, and we had to re-apply for it- still waiting... the insurance may not cover it. I was able to verify that I was still approved for program, with the help of staff, and it also appears my therapist is still covered. It is still a much lower level of coverage than I had. However, without the transpo, I will not likely be able to go. I do not have a car, and getting twice daily rides is not an option. I might be able to do a two bus combo, but it will be about an hour and a half each way, in addition to a 20 minute walk each way to get to the bus and a similar walk from the bus to and from program. Is anyone familiar with the rules of a PT-1? Can it be appealed if it does not go through? Sorry this is so long, but I am so freaked out and I really needed to vent and ask for any advice. |

Update... my request was denied for the transportation. I am told I need to go to my DTA worker, and see if I can get my insurance level back to where it needs to be. No appeal available until I get the official letter with instructions for appeal. I am so scared.
