would b interested in others' ideas, experiences. Really need access to a refi like this, as mortgage has such a ridiculous interest rate and home under water. Hoping for an opportunity, would really help out. Otherwise, so hard to get ahead!

It's in the works: HARP 3.0 Bill Reintroduced in Congress

We don't qualify for HARP since we refinanced in 2009, before it passed. We're refinancing right now trying to get our monthly payments down as the interest rates didn't rise like we thought they might but that will take buying more of the house so the loan-to-value ratio is at least 80%. We're praying for the appraisal done last week (how much the house is worth) to be high so we don't have to pay as much extra as we think it will be. We had to pay some in 2009 and the value has kept going down still. We're in a community where everyone has lived here 40 years and we only 7-8, so they can afford to sell for lots less as the houses cost so much less 40 years ago. So how much one can sell for goes down a lot even though how much we're appraised for taxes does not, etc. It's a mess.

I sure wish u the best and would love to hear back how it goes for u. Don't really have time to get into it now and it's complicated, but I appreciate your info. Trying to follow congressional actions re this subject and hope they will approve and finish, amidst all other pressing issues. Then, I do hope we r all able to take advantage of such and move forward, much improved, as some others are able to do, w these new programs. The best!
