Barely surviving. Have food stamps for food but that's it. waiting for disability decision after hearing. I've sold everything i have worth selling. I eat off a hot plate and a toaster oven to avoid a gas bill. I can't even afford toilet paper and laundry soap
It is so pasy degrading. My birthday is friday and when asked what i wanted i said household stuff like tp laundry soap pads etc pathetic. I'm turning 39 and my life is in shambles. I am not materialistic I don't need things but when you get to the point where you can't afford to wipe your *** its a bit overwhelming I'm afraid of myself if i get denied again. I can't possibly. work and i can not do this anymore. |

widowlost, I'm on food stamps and am also in the process of applying for disability (appealing). I'm fortunate that my parents are giving me a place to stay. I also have a low stress, online part-time job. The job covers the cost of my meds but not much more than that. I get most my meds through a program called prescription hope. I understand what its like to struggle--before moving in with my parents I lived in a camper for a year......hang in there.....D.

Hi widowlost. I'm sorry things are so tough right now. It's possible you may be eligible for some assistance/programs/access to resources that you aren't aware of?
Benefits.gov is one of a few topic specific consumer oriented sites that is sponsored by the government. It has an online tool that will help you to estimate eligibility for basically every current assistance program that exists if it is at all government associated. There is a huge number of them. When I ran it it shot out like twenty of them and by quick glance at least half of them seemed pretty darned viable option for assistance, the others hard to say without more research. But the results provide you with all kinds of info on each program. The actually questions take about five-seven minutes. That's my only idea, but I feel there's a good chance you'll find something of use there? Hope so. |
